About Affordable Housing Societies
Affordable Housing Societies was established in 1982 to develop, own and manage rental housing for low and moderate income families, seniors and singles/couples.
The Societies have a portfolio of 64 projects/3,650 units in 13 municipalities, all located in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Most of the projects are funded under Federal and/or Provincial government programs so that some or all tenants pay rent based on their income. The Societies do not provide support services though tenants at some projects can access services on site from other agencies.
The Societies have adopted a growth agenda with a target of providing 5000 affordable rental units by 2030.
