About Neighbours Community Homes

Neighbours Community Homes was originally two organizations: Houselink Community Homes and Mainstay Housing. Houselink and Mainstay joined as one organization in 2021. We officially changed our name to Neighbours in 2025 with a goal to address homelessness and make Toronto a more inclusive city by developing more housing and building welcoming communities where some residents receive support services.

Neighbours is the leading supportive housing provider in Ontario and the leading private non-profit housing provider in Toronto. We own approximately 1,140 units across 50 locations in the city and support an additional 266 units through rent supplements.

Our mission is to advance equity, inclusion and the wellbeing of people who have mental health challenges through affordable and secure housing, services and leadership in the sector.

We are actively implementing a plan to transform our dedicated supportive housing portfolio to include mixed income communities that are inclusive of people living with mental health issues.

We seek to respond to the voices of our tenants in all we do. Our tenants are members of the organization and comprise one-third of our board of directors.
